Storm The Charts

Storm The Charts is an attempt to take over the whole top 40 with unsigned acts for a month in June. The 40 acts will be chosen from over 500 acts at www.stormthecharts.com. Votes are cast in polls of 5 random acts. My entry into Storm The Charts is Ordinary, taken from the Octagon album.

Launched during a month long run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Octagon is a collection of intelligently crafted pop songs with killer hooks and insightful lyrics.

Available from this site in limited edition eco-friendly Jakebox packaging, Octagon was produced by Nigel Stonier and features vocals from top 40 singer/songwriter Thea Gilmore.

On Friday 25th September 2009 at 9pm I was lucky enough to be one of only 2400 people given the opportunity to take part in Anthony Gormley's One & Other project on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square.

I was given an hour on the Plinth in which I could do whatever I wanted, so I performed an hour long set of songs, mainly from the Octagon album. The whole thing was broadcast live on the net and the archived performance is available to view online at www.oneandother.co.uk where you can also leave comments and tag your favourite moments.

I treated the hour a bit like a busking session and hope to raise money for two good causes which I have busked for previously.
